Single molecule studies of DNA repairIngrid Tessmer
Welcome to the Tessmer laboratory. Our work aims at understanding DNA repair processes at the level of the individual molecules. In particular, we are interested in general and specific features of DNA damage recognition and verification strategies employed by different DNA repair systems. Our research focuses on lesion search and recognition in base excision repair (BER), in nucleotide excision repair (NER), and by the direct damage reversal protein O6-alkylguanine DNA alkyltransferase (AGT). |
